Foundation Purposes

  1. The foundation’s objective is to support charitable and benevolent purposes and in particular to support the
    • Environment and nature
    • Youth help
    • Help for politically, racially and religiously discriminated persons
    • Peace and international understanding.
  2. The foundation objectives are in particular directly realised through

    own environment and nature preservation projects, like e.g. research of alternative energy sources and climate protection activities

    the award of stipends, subsidies and similar grants to support the above-mentioned objectives

    measurements serving to support persons according to §53 AO, like e.g. financial support

    the grant of awards for excellent performance in the area of the foundation purposes.

  3. The purpose of the foundation is furthermore to acquire funds to be forwarded to national tax-privileged corporate bodies, other foreign corporate bodies or a corporate body of public right for realizing tax-privileged purposes according to §2 clause 1 of the articles of association according to §58 no. 1 AO.
  4. All of the objectives are pursued. There is no order of priority for these objectives. The foundation boards are entitled to support individual objectives at their discretion.
  5. The support grants can be revoked at any time and are not subject to any legal claim. The decision with regards to such grants is subject to the sole discretion of the competent boards. No claim for equal treatment can be asserted in cases of grant or rejection.

Tax-privileged purposes

  1. The foundation solely and directly pursues charitable and benevolent purposes as defined in the section “tax-privileged purposes” of the German Fiscal Code.
  2. The foundation is a non-profit organisation. It does not mainly pursue own financial interests. The foundation’s funds may only be used for the purposes defined by its articles of association.
  3. No person may be favoured by expenditures that are not compliant to the foundation’s purposes or favoured by unreasonably high allowances.
  4. The foundation completes its tasks on its own behalf or through third parties according to §57 clause 1 sentence 2 AO, provided that such parties are not entrusted with fund-raising activities as defined by §58 no. 1 AO.
  5. Based on the objective of preserving and promoting a good life, the following fields of tasks and activities in the areas mentioned in the foundation purposes section exist for the foundation work:

    The environment and nature sector comprises the protection of the variety of animals and plants form exploitation, inacceptable conditions and destruction, reconstruction and support of ecological systems, resource protection, climate protection but also the protection of intact landscapes and sites and positive artificial/cultural environments.

    The education and culture sector includes the support of education and research projects, artistic and cultural approaches serving to raise awareness for a careful responsible and universalistic mindset as a basis for corresponding actions.

    The youth help support area in particular comprises the protection of children and teenagers, who cannot fully defend themselves due to their age, from violence of any kind and heteronomy, the assurance and provision of a free access to education and global information, the support of a caring and promoting environment for an optimal personal development.

    The area of help against political, racist or religious harassment in particular includes activities to guarantee legal security, legal equality, grant of asylum, physical integrity, freedom of opinion and freedom of religious belief.

    The area of peace and international understanding comprises the support of the friendship and right of self-determination of people and nations in the context of a global community, the support of peaceful conflict resolution strategies, a free and fair economic exchange based on the sustainable use of limited resources, the support of cultural variety and creativity.
