The vita Foundation supported various cultural projects at the Kunsthaus K22 in cooperation with the municipality of Oberursel in the context of city partnership anniversaries (Epinay/France, Rushmore/England and Lomonossow near St. Petersburg/Russia).

The main focus in this context was to enable international communication, cultural exchange and personal meetings. From the 29th of September to the 10th of October 2009, new positions in Russian art – mainly paintings – represented by Elena Artsutanova, Svetlana Karlychanova, Victor Petrov, Olga Moissejewa, Larissa Tamashevic, Maria Tregubenko and Tanja Voronkova were presented in cooperation with the Kunsthaus Anjou, Lomonossow and artists of St. Petersburg. The presentation also included children’s’ drawings of the painting school of Lomonossow and a photo exhibition from Lomonossow and St. Petersburg. The artists were invited to come to Germany and had the opportunity to visit the city and the region as well as to discuss with artists from the Rhine/Main region at the ArtCafe in the K22 on September 30th 2009. Gias Naumann-Namba from the Papiertheater Tschaya read Russian fairy tales for children on October 3rd 2009. Birgit Assheuer (spokeswoman for fine arts in broadcasting media for ARD, Arte, 3Sat and ZDF) presented Russian literature with works of Achmatowa, Blok, Puschkin, Sewerjanin and Mandelstam during a traditional samovar evening with Russian music in cooperation with LiteraTouren Oberursel. Petra Luise Kämpfer (piano) and Anna Schmidt-Gelfenbein (violin) played works by Mostras, Tschaikowskij, Schostakovitsch und Sviridov at the vernissage and finissage which delegations from all partner cities attended. Dr. Petra Skiba held an art-historical lecture on the situation of artists in modern Russia, the problems of Russian artists under the governmental management of art production during the Soviet era and the works of the represented artists.
